CanCell Awards

Every year the centre has a retreat where all employees come together to exchange scientific ideas over a two and half day program. The retreat also involves social activities.

The retreat is used as a platform to announce CanCell paper awards for selected research articles published during the previous year, in addition to a communicator of the year award for outreach activities.

Communicator of the year

Pilar Ayuda-Durán was selected for the communicator of the year award. Pilar has been involved in a number of outreach activities over the years. She is the founder and president of the society for Spanish Researchers in Norway and in that capacity she regularly organizes a public outreach activity 'science tapas' with current and relevant topics. She is also involved in organizing international conferences. She was awarded a prize for her participation in the initiative for International day for Girls and Women in Science (11th Feb) by ASEICA, the Spanish association for cancer research, in 2022.
